New Blog Welcome Message
You see my current welcome message on the banner at the top of the page?
It says - Welcome Everyone, to the everyday adventures of "Miss Sunshade" - The SuperDALE
I'm considering changing it to - Welcome Everyone, to the everyday BORING life of "Miss Sunshade" - The SuperBORED-DALE
Yes, I basically just lie around all day (NOT on my bed b/c its taken), and watch him lick his privates all day,
Since my life is so boring currently, I thought I'd write about Edamame Beans (yeah, THAT bored...)
Edamame is an immature soybean that's grown in East Asia. It is often used in Asian cuisines, particularly that of the Japanese where it is served as a tasty and healthy appetizer. Most often, they are served steamed or boiled with a sprinkle of salt on top. The beans are inside pods that have a bit of a hairy texture.
The way to eat Edamame (for most hoomans anyway) is to split the bean pod with your fingers and eat the small, green beans inside, shown here,
Here's a live instructional video:
If you have followed the instructional video correctly, you should be left with the pod only,
Here's a closer look,
You can sometimes try getting the beans out by shaking, like so,
Of course, we must not litter. Unless of course, you have a vacuum machine like I do (its that black and tan model behind me) that will clean up after the left over pods.

Mom bought those edamame beans once! It was a booboo - she meant to buy sugar snap beans and serve them for dindin as a side dish. It was a very messy dindin that night but the edamames were very yummy!
You husk it quite well, Sunshade!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Oh Sunshade you are so funny. You're writing about Edamame hahaha. You probably dont know this but D & B LOVE Edamame. They usually get a bowl from the Japanese restaurant just up the road. They also had 3 bags in the freezer but they ate them all.

Sunshade!!! I love those beans too!! But how come you get to take them apart yourself?? Mom insists on opening them up and giving me the beans only. Not fair at all. Maybe you can talk to her?
I hope you're feeling better and I would LOVE to meet you at the park. The park you saw on my blog was near the North Shore automall.
Will Jaffa be joining us too? Or does he have another date?
Tobester
Sunshade - you've been back for ages, and I only just figured it out!??? Duh...
I sure hope your vet stem works!
Maybe your mom will help you play Moose's (http://dewdana.blogspot.com/) brain game. It's too hard for me, but I'll bet you'd be good at it!

Hi Sunshade sweetie,
I came right over after I read your comment about the surgery!! Awww...and what? No walkies too?? Hope you are back on your paws soon...
Our mom loves those edamame beans too.. There was this time when she was in a Japanese restaurant eating these beans and when she was trying to pop the beans out of the husk, it flew into the cup of green tea of the stranger sitting next to her!! LOL!!! It was embarrassing!!
Sending you heaps of love and kisses from across the miles..
Huskee (NO Hershey!!)
Hi,
Me again... just had to leave another comment cos I wanted to get another 'peek at the muscle butt'!! Heehee... :P
Ooh, I should try some of those edamame beans. CC-man used to eat them all the time till his vet said they weren't that great for birds to eat (especially old birds like CC-man). So mom has a bunch in the freezer..hmmmm..
Miss Sunshade, I hope your life improves soon. Having to watch Stinky licking himself all day must be the worst torture. Your mom needs to keep entertaining you more (hee hee).
Teddy
How did you do that? I guess when you have time on your paws you can learn all sorts of cool things.
Slobbers,
Mango
Snickers favorite vegetable is green peppers! Yum. She'll beg for more.
