What kind of Thanksgiving Din Din is THIS?

This morning, Mum and I went down to Seattle to celebrate Thanksgiving with her friends down there and also to pick up a few things mum had ordered (including: my wetsuit/bandanna, and X-mas cards!!)

I was very excited at first, because I thought I'd get to eat a second T-Day Din Din you know? I celebrated my Canadian Thanksgiving back in October, but since I was born in the US, it would only make sense for me to get a US T-Day Din Din too right?

Well, I got my T-day Din Din alright, it was THIS:

So tell me, what kind of Thanksgiving Din Din is THIS?? That's like what I eat almost 365 days a year......

Mum also made me finish it before we crossed the border, which meant it was actually Thanksgiving Breakie or Brunchie!!!

Anyway, I was still looking forward to the hooman kind of din din, so I didn't complain too much. But GUESS WHAT??

I wasn't even allowed inside during the hooman feast!! I had to stay in the car because of the "no animals inside" rule!!! Mum didn't even bring me a Sunshade Bag because she said she didn't want to be rude. Rude??

Just because her family friends don't see dogs the way she does, doesn't mean she can't ask for a Sunshade Bag!!! Geez.....

HMMMMMPH!

Anyway, how anyone can refuse my presence is beyond me. Those people need help!

Miss Sunshade was NOT happy!

Good thing mum did take me to a park for me to play before locking me in the car, and after HER celebration, she took me to another park for me to romp. Otherwise, I think I would be pouting throughout the rest of November!!

no, NOOO! That's NOT poop I was holding thank you very much. Remember my pine cone fetish??

Anyway, other than my park walks, and the Jack In The Box chicken strips I got on the drive home, my US Thanksgiving sucked!!

My Birfday pressie from Boo!!

Hey guys, remember the note the MEAN mailman left at my door regarding a particular parcel of mine??

Well mum and I went to pick it up at the post office today (well mum did, I was in the car). Mum handed her ID to the post office lady, the lady took a LOOOONG time looking at it, so mum asked her if something was wrong. The lady asked mum:

"Umm... are you Miss Sunshade the ..... um.. su-per-dale? Cause I can't find the name on here,"(pointing at mum's old school ID)

Mum laughed and said:

"Oh, that's my dog. She's in the car, would you like me to bring her in for the pawtograph?"

(Signature of the recipient is required)

The lady laughed and said:

"OHHH, that's why I couldn't find the name on your ID. Do you have something with your address on for me to verify?"

So mum handed over her driver's licence (with the ugliest possible picture of the hooman kind)

Anyway, I couldn't wait to see what was inside this parcel!!

Mum told me it was from one of my bestest friends, he lives in Malaysia, and HIS NAME IS BOO!!!

I didn't need mum to tell me the pressie was from Boo because I had already caught his sexy scent. Who would think a little 8 months old boy would have such a manly scent?? (Oops...sowie Chiyo, I was NOT flirting with your boyfriend at all really....)

I couldn't wait to rip the package open! I thought maybe Boo had shrunk himself and came to visit me??

I did run into a few obsticles while opening the box, and this was one of them.....

Yup...a piece of the cardboard from the box got stuck in my teeth... and my EVIL mum not only didn't help me, she took my embarrassing picture!

I did eventually manage to get the paper wrapping off the box, and the box was exposed.

Boo was SOOO considerate of my mum and left her a very nice note:

After I got the cardboard box open, there were lots of bubble wraps. I still couldn't see what my pressie was, but I knew it wasn't Boo..........

Did you like that muscle tongue?? hehehe......

AND THEN.... I saw it!!

Two of my favouritest things combined into one!!

ME + rockie = very happy Sunshade

How did you know I have a rock fetish Boo?? It is very similar to my pine cone fetish.....

Just look at how happy I was about my pressie!!

Note: my mother often gets too carried away talking to me, and she often forgets the videos are going on my blog. I apologize ahead of time for the scaaaaawie voice of the crazy woman....

OH, and yes, gotta make sure the bubble wrap is completely shredded!!

Oh, and I almost forgot, Boo made me a boooootiful card!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Boo & Sammie, mum and I LOVED it!!

I dreamed of Daisie Duke

I saw my friend Daisie Duke in my dream.......

I didn't know it was a dream at first, I thought I was in heaven. This place that I was in was so beautiful and so colourful. There were meadows, hills, and the lush green grass for me to run around. I found lots of bunny holes, and I dug and dug and DUG! Then I heard a little whisper of a very familiar voice.... I turned around, and it was my MOUSIE!!!

I was so happy to see him again, I ran over and picked him up like I used to all the time. MOUSIE told me he knew where there were lots and lots of squirrliess for me to chase all day long. I followed MOUSIE through the shaded valley, and then VOILA, I saw a field of squirrlies!! With no hesitation, I started running and chasing those squirrlies, I was in heaven!! The most amazing part was that even after hours of running, my bad elbow didn't hurt one bit. In fact, I felt as if I was back being a puppy, there was no pain or discomfort whatsoever, just JOY!

My MOUSIE then told me there was someone VERY special who is waiting for me at the gate.

The gate?

What gate? I wondered.

I followed MOUSIE, and then, there it was!!

I couldn't believe my eyes, because it was even MORE beautiful inside that gate. There was a rainbow over a little bridge, and according to MOUSIE, the rainbow never disappears!!

And then, I saw a pup prancing over that little bridge, she was coming towards me!!! It was my friend Daisie Duke,

She came to me with a dirt covered nose, and a squirrel dangling from her mouth. When she put the squirrel down to say hi, she had this big Aire-grin on her face!! Yup, she was bragging to me about how she caught the squirrel! But of course, nobody over at the rainbow bridge gets hurt, and the squirrel told me that was just a chase game they play all the time. Oh my doG, is this heaven?? Daisie and the squirrel invited me to join their chase game, so I did, and boy, Daisie was running SOOOO fast I was having a hard time keeping up!

We played and played and played, until it was time for Daisie to go eat. Yup, she LOVED her food, and wouldn't miss it for anything!! She told me over on the other side of the rainbow bridge, there is always food, all kinds of yummy food and they never run out!! Are you kidding me? This MUST be heaven!

I wanted to follow Daisie and MOUSIE through the gate, but they both told me I had to stay. They said it was not my time to walk through that gate yet, but they promised me one day, we will all be together again!! I trusted them and stayed on the other side of the gate while watching their figures get smaller and smaller......

Just before they disappeared completely from my sight, I felt something heavy on me. I turned to look, and there was my mum snuggled up against me with her big heavy arm on top of me.

Where did the meadows go? Where did the grass go? where were the squirrlies??

It was then I realized that heavenly place I was at was just a dream....... I was lying comfortably on mum's bed. Mum looked sad, she had watery eyes. I didn't know why mum was sad, but I didn't ask. I just laid there with her, and we both fell asleep.

Maybe I'll see Daisie again in my sleep?? Maybe I'll get to play with her again in that heavenly place?

Daisie wanted me to give her mom Amy, her brother Jordan, and her sister Kendra a note:

Dear mommy, Kendra, and my Jordan,

I love and miss you guys so so very much!! Please don't worry about me, the Rainbow Bridge is a wonderful place to be. I don't feel sick anymore, and did I tell you I LOVE to eat everything?? The only problem is I have so much energy I don't know what to do with it. So far, I have not been able to find any shoe for me to chew the inside out, and I am a little disappointed about that. On the other hand, I have met so many nice friends here and they are all taking great care of me including Miss Sunshade's MOUSIE.

Think of me often, but please don't be too sad because we will ALL be together again someday! If you don't believe me, just check out this video:

The Rainbow Bridge

Give Liliie, Whiskers, and Sox each a belly scratch from me ok?? (I'll be watching you from the RB, so make sure you do what I said ok? hehehe)

Love,
Daisie Duke

Have fun at the Rainbow Bridge Daisie! You must have been so special for the big doG above to want you back so soon. Take care of yourself and my MOUSIE ok??

Love nibbles,
Miss Sunshade

ROOTS Canada

This evening, while mum was organizing her walk-in closet, she came across her collection of Olympic wears by ROOTS. Mum let out a sigh.....

You see, ROOTS is a world leader in authentic athletic lifestyle clothing, leather goods and Canada's number one brand. It had outfitted the Canadian Olympic team to many Olympics, and made Canadian Olympians the fashion envy of other nations. (and that is a quote)

ROOTS also became the official outfitter for the US Olympic team back in 2002, and was the official outfitter for Canada, United States, Great Britain, and Barbados at the 2004 summer Olympics.

However, the disappointing news (to mum at least) came, back in March of 2005 when ROOTS was outbid by the ancient Hudson's Bay company also known as The Bay and lost the Olympic contract. The Bay paid 100 million dollars to win over ROOTS in hopes to give it's brand a much needed boost.

While ROOTS outfitted the US Olympic team with style at the 2006 Torino Winter Games; The Bay outfitted our athletes, and mum hated the outfits. She said they were super ugly.

Mum said it's just not the same without the BEAVER:

The beaver is the trademark for ROOTS wear and it is also the National Symbol of Canada (YIPPEE! I live in a country represented by the LARGEST type of rodent, what more can a terrier want??)

Anyway, mum is a HUGE fan of the Olympic Games, especially the kind you do in the winter. (I think it's because she used to compete in figure skating. I prefer the summer kind since soccer and tennis (balls) are more my types of sport!!). Over a period of 6 years, she has collected numerous Olympic wears by ROOTS, and here are some of them: (yes.... I was very much the victim here...)

2006 Torino Winter Olympics:

NONE for obvious reasons!!

2004 Athens Summer Olympics:

2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics:

As you can see, mum went a little crazy that year because it was her FAVOURITE Olympics!!

WHY?

*Mum takes over*

For one, the opening and closing ceremonies were INCREDIBLE!! The set up, the athletes' village, and everything at that Olympics was just perfect!

And um.... our hockey teams did really well ..... that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Lastly, remember this?

(Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze of Russia (left) and Jamie Sale and David Pelletier of Canada)

NO NO NO, it was not the fact my favourite pairs team - Jamie Sale & David Pelletier was robbed of their gold medals after a perfect performance (where the Russians made mistakes) due to a judging scandal:

But the fact that Jamie and David skated the performance of a life time even after Jamie had the wind knocked out of her when she collided with the Russian male skater, Anton Sikharulidze during warm up prior to skating their program. This is the video of Jamie & David's long program at the 2002 Winter Olympics and reactions from spectators when they didn't win the Gold.

Click here if you want to watch the Russian's program - pay attention at around the 50 second mark in the video, the male skater - Anton stumbles coming out of his double axel.

Jamie and David handled the controversy with grace and integrity, and they made our country proud. Just look at them having fun at the BNL concert even after being introduced as the "Silver Medalists". LOVE the ROOTS outfits!!

Video of Jamie & Davie at BNL concert at the 2006 Olympics

Anyway, what made this event so special was that the Canadian Olympic official asked for a second set of Gold Medals to be awarded to the Canadians without stripping the Russians of their medals. A week after their memorable skate, justice was made by the IOC, and Jamie & David received their Gold Medals. Together with their Russian opponents, they stood on top of the Olympic podium for the first time while the Canadian flag was being raised and "O Canada" was being played in the background.

Hey I'm back, are you guys still awake?? I fell asleep watching mum blab on and on about HER sport. Gee... I thought HER sport was dog walking or chickenDALE carrying??

So where were we?? Oh, the Olympic outfits...

2000 Sydney Summer Olympics:

1998 Nagano Winter Olympics:

OH, and did I mention? ROOTS wear doesn't effect the counter surfing action at all!!

(yes, that's a messy counter, mum is a slob!!)

Anyway, I think if I was modeling at the bidding war, ROOTS might still be outfitting the Canadian athletes today!! How could anyone reject me in ROOTS??

Another mystery

This morning, at about 10 o'clock, I was woken by the ever so alarming "DING - DONG" sound! I ran to the door and I asked:

WHOOOOOO is it??

I got no reply, and another "DING - DONG" came shortly after that. I asked again with more emphasis this time:

WHOOOOOOEVER IS OUT THERE, YOU BETTER TELL ME YOUR NAME, THE PURPOSE OF YOUR TRIP, OR I'LL........ I'll ... umm... nevermind

Well after I finished talking, I didn't hear anymore DING - DONGs, so I went back to catch up on my beauty sleep.

Anyway, when mum came home tonight, she showed me this piece of paper that was left at the door:

It is a delivery notice for a parcel addressed to ME - Miss Sunshade the SuperDALE!! That stupid mail man LIED!! He left this piece of paper at my door instead of my parcel because he said there was "NO ANSWER".... What a big liar, I answered his DING - DONGs many many times, he was the one that didn't answer. Gee... and they wonder why we dawgs don't like them??

Anyway, because of the stupid mail man, I have to wait until tomorrow after 1:00 pm to pick my parcel up at the post office.

Now the mystery is ------------------------ WHO SENT ME THIS PARCEL???

Update on things......

Ok guys, I know I have not been blogging a lot lately. Well the reason is that my mum has been super busy, and because I lost my un-supervised blogging time privilege (due to too much ..um.. flirting), I haven't been able to blog. Not that there is that much to blog about anyway, my life is currently very boring, the weather SUCKS!!!

UPDATE # 1:

Yes yes, I know the wait and the mystery THING is killing you guys... It's killing ME TOO!!! I still can't find it, don't know where it went. Mum thinks I have forgotten about it since the thing's mysterious disappearance, but I really haven't!! I'm just not willing to let that thing disrupt my already very boring life (at the moment).

My EVIL mum did leave us a few clues:

  • it has fur
  • it shed quite a bit
  • it blinks
  • it's white
  • this is part of it

ARGH.... still 6 more days until the SPECIAL day....

(mum's note: guys...it really isn't that exciting...)

UPDATE # 2:

Remember my friend Daisie Duke with the impressive resume?? Well she finally got a blog of her own. Keep in mind she is only 8 months old, so she is still learning about this whole blog thingy. Go visit her and say hello ok??

Daisie's Dog Dish

UPDATE # 3:

The weather in Vancouver has been AWFUL (and that's kind of an understatement)!! What's worse is that because of the amount of wind and rain we've been having, there is a lot of sand, mud, debris in the reservoir, and our water has turned murky. An advisory was issued for residents of Vancouver to boil the water before drinking and no brushing teeth with that water.

The water on the left is of what normal water should look like, the water on the right is what we are currently getting out of our faucets. It is actually a lot less murky today than the previous week.

Toby's picture says better about our water...........

We are lucky in the way that we get Canadian Springs water delivered to our house on a regular basis, so we still have a couple of 18 L jars left. However, mum can't stand showering with mud water, washing dishes with mud water (mum rejected my offer of using my tongue), or doing laundry with mud water. The very worst part is, I'm all out of clean fleece blankets that I normally eat my bone-bones on, so I haven't gotten any bones in a week (that's like ETERNITY for me you know!!).

UPDATE # 4:

On top of the poor weather, another reason why my life is boring at the moment is because, my mum....... ahem... got a little too ambitious with the X-mas cards ... and well ... she started something that she doesn't think she could finish. So she is working very hard on them. She thought she could make 60 + of the stuff she's making, but it takes her more than one hour just to make one (and it involves me too...hmmmph) ... and November is always a busy month for mum with all the special days!! And that ONE very SPECIAL day is approaching fast..... *wink*

UPDATE # 5:

I'm going OUT OF MY MIND!!!

This evening, mum came home acting very secretive. She was carrying something in her arms and she didn't greet me like she usually does. Mum rushed to the bathroom, and came out without the thingy she was holding in her arms.

It was then she greeted me with her usual warmth. Of course by that time, I was too occupied with what was inside the bathroom!! Mum wouldn't open the door for me because she said that was my B-Day present and I only get to open it on my B-day.

While my EVIL mum was inside the bathroom, I heard an ever so familiar noise........

(see how EVIL my mum is? She won't even show you guys what it is because she thinks you, my friends, will tell me what it is!! That's Georgie's X-pen by the way. The background noise is our toilet, it's always running and I can never catch it....)

I don't know about you guys, but that to me sounds an awful lot like one of these:

COULD IT BE?? After 7 years of wishing??

I LOVE cats!! But that's a different kind of "love" than the love I have for mum and Georgie. For example: I LOVE to see kitties arch their backs up and stare at me, then I get even closer, and I LOVE it when they finally hiss at me, then I get really really rude in their face. I got a few good nose swaps before, but I LOVED it because that's what I was waiting for and that set me off to chase the kitties!! I really really do LOVE kitties. I've been wishing for one ever since I was little, but for some reason, mum and Santa never seem to get my wishes (until now??).

The only cat that I don't love is the one at my Auntie Janice's clinic. His name is Jazz, and he sees so many dogs that he never reacts to them. I stuck my face right in his face the first time we met and he fell asleep in my face!!! I couldn't believe it so I gave him a nudge, he opened one eye to look at me, then fell right back to sleep. So I lost my interest in him since that day. How boring..... Now I just ignore Jazz whenever I see him, he's no fun, I don't LOVE him. I do LOVE most kitties I meet tho since they all like to arch their backs and hiss at me!!

Anyway, so that thing in the bathroom is driving me nuts and it's disrupting my normal routine!! I usually LOVE to go for walks rain or shine, day or night. However, because of that thing, now I don't want to go for walks.

See this video, mum drove me to my favourite park. I took one quick pee (no poop for today...), sniffed around and refused to walk any further in all directions. The only place I wanted to be was to get in my SunshadeMOBILE and GO HOME to see the thing........ I was trying to get a good sniff of my car since I knew the thing came via the car.....

(I know the video is very dark, but the flashing thing you see is me. You can see I refused to walk further and wanted to go back to the car. The "wait's" and "Ok's" are my commands to wait at the curb, and then go when mum says ok. )

This is what I did as soon as I got home.......

I kept trying to get a good sniff of exactly what was inside the bathroom, but the smell was proven inconclusive. It sounded like a kitty, but didn't smell like one. So I was (and still AM) very puzzled.

I followed mum upstairs thinking she might have some answers, but of course, she didn't. And look at THIS!!!

Because of that thing, I even forgot to pull my chickenDALE stunt!!! (Told you the chickenDALE only appears when I'm thinking too much. It disappears when I'm either not thinking at all or my mind is pre-occupied by some-thing else)

This is where I have been lying for the last I don't know how many hours,

I can't think, I can't concentrate, I AM GOING OUT OF MY MIND!!!

Mum was mad, I was MORE MAD!!!

Both mum and I had a bad day yesterday. We were both very mad, but for different reason, yet somewhat related. Make sense so far??

Yesterday, Mum and I drove to my favorite park in the morning for my morning walk. She parked the car and off we went to the park. We had a great walk, except it was raining. Mum hates rain, but I don't mind rain as long as I'm not stuck at home because of it. Anyway, mum had to go to work and I was looking forward to breakfast, so we made our way back to the car.

Mum stuck her key into the key hole (whatever it's called) and guess what?? She couldn't turn the key!! Mum tried wiggling the steering wheel while turning the key, but it still wouldn't turn. Now because this was not the first time it's happened, mum called a tow truck to see if the tow truck driver could do anything.

Well, the tow truck guy showed up, mum took me out of the car because I get very protective of my SunshadeMOBILE. I saw Pedro, the tow truck driver got into MY car and I started talking to him.

I told him: GRRRRR...... GRRRR.... GRR.. WOOF..... GRRRR ..... WOOOOOOOF!!
(Translation: GET YOUR STINKING BUTT OUT OF MYYYYYYYY CAR!!!)

Pedro kept asking mum if I was friendly.......

Mum's response was: Oh yeah, she just talks a lot.

Pedro looked a little suspicious of mum's answer, but he made the effort of trying to let me know he was nice. He got a treat out from his truck, asked mum if it was ok to give it to me, after interrogating about the entire nutrient content, mum said yes, so he approached me nicely and offered me the treat.

I knew he wasn't a bad person, but he was in MY SunshadeMOBILE doing doG knows what to her. So I took the treat from his hand and spat it out right away onto the wet ground just to let him know Miss Sunshade was NOT happy.

Mum was very apologetic about my behaviour, she picked the treat up and said: I'm very sorry she is just very picky about food (which we all know I'm NOT....hehe).

Pedro was nice and didn't seem offended at all. Then he got into MY SunshadeMOBILE again and started to wiggle the steering wheel VERY roughly while turning the key. Poor SunshadeMOBILE was shaking (pun intended). He said it was a seized cylinder or something and sometimes when you wiggle the steering wheel very hard, it opens up.

Well I could careless about what this Pedro guy said, but he was being TOO ROUGH to MY SunshadeMOBILE and I hated it. So yes, I went bizark........ I started lunging at the end of my leash, towards MY SunshadeMOBILE while snarling trying to get to Pedro and save MY car from the abuse. Mum finally had to make me do a down-stay with lots of "it's ok, he is NICE" and "LEAVE HIM" commands......... (I am regretting about losing my cool.... but seriously, I just can't stand it when someone/something I love is being mistreated....) (Mum's note: in her opinion that is LOL!)

Anyway, that stupid Pedro guy put my SunshadeMOBILE through all that abuse and still couldn't get the cylinder thingy to un-lock and finally had to tow MY car to the shop. Well, I went bizark again when I saw MY SunshadeMOBILE being towed away!! I kept trying to chase the tow truck, but my EVIL mum stopped me. Why does she always have to stop me from doing something VERY important??

So mum and I spent the next half an hour walking home from the park and both of us were terribly moody for different reasons:

Mum HATES my SunshadeMOBILE because it's always doing things like this for no reason at all. Well, actually, mum says the reason is because it's a Ford, and the worst model out of all the Focuses!!! The cylinder thingy locked up back in 2000 after just having the car for 2 months, it was brand new. It had to be towed and a new cylinder was replaced, and now in 2006, it's doing it AGAIN!! I personally think mum should cut SunshadeMOBILE some slack since the last cylinder lasted for almost 6 years!!

I was mad because well, mum let MY SunshadeMOBILE get towed away with that abusive guy and she didn't even try to stop him. Well I spent the rest of my day being moody. On our evening walk, I heard this a honk from a Ford Focus (yes I recognize the ignition sound and honk of a Ford Focus). I thought maybe that was SunshadeMOBILE, so I dragged mum over to check it out. SIGH..... but all I saw were two strangers with a green version of SunshadeMOBILE. (SunshadeMOBILE gives out a honk when you lock it) I was so sad I barely had enough strength to put one foot in front of another to make it home.........

The good news is that I have MY SunshadeMOBILE back now!! So everything is gooooood!! (Mum's note: except my bank account SUNSHADE!!!) Ah well WUTEVER, you'll live mum!

What is ALDO?

Well, a lot of you have questioned about the ALDO bag I got a hold of from my last post - The chickenDALE (part 3).

Why was mum frantic? What's the big deal about ALDO??

Well the truth is, there IS NO big deal!!! It is just a store that sells ridiculously over priced, albeit durable chew toys. To see the store catalogue, please visit their website:

ALDO

It is a store that hoomans, especially the female kind like to waste their money at. I personally don't understand why they would want to buy such expensive chew toys when the much cheaper Kong or other squeakies would do just fine.

Here are a few samples of the chewies mum got from ALDO:

They, of course, have all retired from their
original purposes...... and I had NOTHING to do with their retirement.... REALLY!!! It was that Bouvier who stayed with us you know, it was him.. NOT me! REALLY!

I was a little disappointed when I didn't find anything "wooden" or "leathery" in the ALDO bag on Friday night. All I found was this:

SIGH..... Oh well, better luck next time.....
