My scheme EXPOSED!! The chickenDALE (part 3)

To read the full chickenDALE story, please visit:

SIGH.... I guess I must come clean now that my scheme has been EXPOSED by Murph the Dog and Buster. I also get the feeling that most of you think the SuperDALE = chickenDALE, and I just can't have my buddies think that of me.

Murph the Dog has exposed my plan..... he knew right from the beginning that:

ChickenDALE = SmartDALE = SuperDale = Miss Sunshade

And Buster, he knew ever since day one that:

Aspiring actressDALE = Miss Sunshade

HERE IS THE PROOF:

Mom came home tonight and I greeted her *ahem*.. upstairs.... I was doing my usual "chickenDALE act" to try and get her to carry me downstairs. However, mum was a little different tonight. She brought my harness up when she came to greet me. I thought oh great, she's gonna put my harness on, carry me downstairs and then take me out. So I eagerly helped to try and get my harness on quicker........

But, for some reason, my chickenDALE act DIDN'T WORK!!! I couldn't believe it!! She put my harness on, and told me to walk down those steep steps by myself!! I tried to act like I was really scared, you know the whole chickenDALE thing, but she didn't fall for it this time .... (sometimes, that woman is just as headstrong as me) Anyway, so I thought what the heck, I might as well just do them stairs since my scheme was already exposed...

Soooo...

(notice no treats, no help, no runners ?)

So I did those stairs, albeit a little shaaaaaa-ky since I haven't done them for quite a while. Yup, you guessed it. It was all an ACT!! Yes, I can do those stairs if I reeeeeeeeeeeally HAVE to. However, I vowed to myself the day mum stopped the crazyDALE from pinballing down those stairs that I would make her pay for ending my fun (I really enjoyed pinballing!). So I decided to act like a chickenDALE, get her sympathy, and MAKE HER to all the work!! Hoomans are very predictable animals, my mum is no exception. She fell for my scheme, and started carrying me down "those" stairs. That was until my scheme got exposed tonight......

I just hope that my chickenDALE act will keep working even after my scheme is exposed.... *mum's not talking to me*

Anyway, after I was made to go down those stairs, I decided to go check out what important things mum just had to do on a Friday night leaving the poor me stranded .......um.. I mean all alone upstairs. (mum's note: she was downstairs when I left!!)

I found an ALDO bag, mum seemed frantic when I picked it up, so I knew I had picked the right bag to destroy!!

LAST NOTE:

Since I have such a hard time saying NO to dogs (ahem.. evident by the # of boyfriends I have), I have added three late comers to our X-mas Card Exchange. Please check the final list of 61 here:

My Favourite Story - The chickenDALE (part 2)

Ok, since you guys all seemed to want a sequel to the original chickenDALE story with a particular video.... I have decided to invite the "chickenDALE" (NOT the SuperDALE ok?) back to finish the rest of the story with that particular video... (be patient....)

If you are just reading this, you may want to read Part 1 of My Favourite Story before reading on.

Since I ....umm ....... I mean the chickenDALE got stuck again upstairs, mum and I took the opportunity to film the whole story.

The chickenDALE's caretaker has tried putting treats down on every step to encourage the chickenDALE to go down. In this case, the treats were of dehydrated chicken - one of the chickenDALE's favourite!

Did the chickenDALE go down??

Did the chickenDALE even look like she cared about those yummy treats?? I personally think the chickenDALE's head was too occupied with how she was going to get down that treats no treats made no difference. Wondering about where those yummy dehydrated chicken treats ended up?? Well I......... oops...nono, the chickenDALE ended up with ALL that freebies!!!

The caretaker also tried putting no skid runners down,

Did the chicken get kicked out of the chickenDALE??

The runners that were put in this video did not have the rubbery non-skid thingy on the bottoms, however, attempts with the non-skid runners before have all failed.

SOOOOO...... the caretaker was the chickenDALE's only hope of ever setting foot on the first floor....

However, the chickenDALE has a very annoying habit. You will see that the doors upstairs were all closed in order for filming to go smoothly. Normally, when the chickenDALE starts whining and indicating she wants to go downstairs, the caretaker would go and try to help her. This doesn't mean the chickenDALE cooperates. The dignity issue that comes with the DALE part of this unique hybrid sets the chickenDALE off running whenever the caretaker tries to pick her up. If the caretaker stops pursuing the chickenDALE, the chickenDALE then goes back to the staircase opening and starts whining again. So what always ends up happening is a big cat and mouse chase between the caretaker and the chickenDALE until the chickenDALE is eventually caught!!

AND THEN.....

Notice how proficient the caretaker was at putting her "slippers" on in the beginning?? The chickenDALE of course is soooo used to the pampering, she never struggles in her caretakers arms.

Thanks to the chickenDALE, her caretaker never has to work out. Just look at this!!

So, the chickenDALE lives happily ever after!! As for her caretaker, well, the story is not about her...

THE END

My thoughts:

First of all, I believe the caretaker should be VERY thankful of the workout opportunity the chickenDALE presents her with everyday. It saves her a lot of time and money from not having to go to the gym.

I also think this chickenDALE just "thinks" that she can't do those stairs. You must understand, this chickenDALE has a very complex mind. She thinks A LOT, often waaaay too much, and sometimes, she is her own worst enemy without knowing ..... just like last time when she held her poop for 6 days.... Well, that's another story for another time!!

As of now, the SuperDALE who is NOT the chickenDALE says Good-Bye and thank you for reading!!

LASTLY:

Thank you everyone for participating in the X-mas Card Exchange, it's gonna be so much fun and I can't wait to get my cards!! If you have missed it this year, well, there is always next year!!

The final list of the 58 participants will be sent out after I finish blogging......hehehehe!!

My friend - Daisie Duke

To my dear bloggerland friends, I would like to introduce to you a very special friend of mine who you will be getting a card from for the X-mas Card Exchange!! Her name is Daisie Duke, and she is a very brave 8 months old Airedale Terrier who is fighting a nasty disease called Kidney Disease. However, true to her breed, Daisie doesn't know she is sick, and she has no self pity whatsoever. She is enjoying life to the fullest, and loves spending time with her hooman brother and sister!! Here is a little introduction Daisie wrote herself so you all would know who you will be getting a card from

(I heard her hooman brother and sister will be helping her making the cards, OHHHHH I love cards that smell like kids cause they spill yummy stuff all the time!!)

From Daisie Duke:

Hello everyone. My name is Daisie (my family calls me Daisie Duke- you see, my mom came from the 80's Dukes of Hazard so I was named after THAT Daisy Duke). I am an eight month old Airedale puppy. I have been blessed to find a friend and fellow Airedale in Miss Sunshade the SuperDale! She actually found me on a K9kidney list. My mom joined the list when she found out that I had renal dysplasia (not sure what that is, I just know I get lots of extra hugs and kisses) when I was just four months old. Miss Sunshade's mom and my mom have been e-mailing back and forth. Miss Sunshade's mom has given my mom alot of helpful information to help manage my disease (I don't know what "disease" means, mom told me to use that word). She also gives her alot of support! I think both of them are like angels to us!

Well, Miss Sunshade's mom told us about the Christmas card exchange, and we would luv to join in on the fun! We live in Minnesota (brrr cold) and I have two hooman siblings (a brother, Jordan and a sister, Kendra) as well as a canine brother (Whiskers, blue heeler mix) and feline sister (Sox). We are very busy and if you came to our house, or called on the phone, you would know why my mom refers to our place as "Amy's zoo". Anyway, we luv it here in Minnesota and my mom is totally dog crazy and would like to meet others who are just as crazy about their canines.

My areas of expertise include:

  • chewing insides out of shoes
  • chewing on mom's banister railing
  • running away when mom says "COME"
  • taking heavy wooded lids off garbage cans - well you know what comes after that hehe
  • following my 9 yr old hooman brother around as if we were joint at the hips
Please contact me should you need help with the above. Actually, anything "wooden" I can help you with!!

**********************************************************

Note to Daisie: Hey guuurl, your areas of expertise are EXCELLENT and I'm so proud of you!! I'm sure all my terrorist buddies would agree with me. OH, and thanks for saying my mum and I are like angels, but I hate to break it to ya, only I'm the angel here. My EVIL mum makes me do things I don't want to do (ie, take bath, being groomed), and I don't think angels do that!!

So that's my friend Daisie Duke!

She's a pretty cool kid don't you think?? Rumors has it that she might start blogging too, I'm so excited!! I know you all must be dying to see what a little cutie she is, but for some reason, my stupid computer just doesn't seem to want to receive any pictures from her..... .. I'm gonna have a chat with the computer and then pee on it!! That'll teach it!!

Uh huh, I don't think I even need to say anything, you guys will just go SIGN UP right?? You have exactly 24 hrs 18 mins and 10 seconds until the November 10th deadline!

LOOK! The sky is bluuuuuuuuue

I couldn't believe it when I saw this today!!!

It's been so wet and gloomy for the last week or so over here in Vancouver, I thought I'd never seen the sun again. So I hurried mum off work, and made her take me to the beach. Look at how happy I was to see mum with her dog walking clothes on and my harness in one hand!! Soo happy that I had trouble controlling myself....

So we went to Kits beach where I swam a little despite the freezing cold...

As usual, I had to do I few poses. But my eyes made sure they let mum know I wasn't pleased about posing!!

I pushed my ball/ring around with my nose,

but it got all sandy..... I hate to get sand in my mouth, and I was so frustrated because it didn't matter what angle I was trying to pick the ring up at, I always got mouths full of sand..... Can you see how p$ssed I was?

Then I met this dog named Kipp.

At first, I thought he was a Border Collie. You see, I have this thing about Border Collies, because I was attacked by one when I was about 2 years old. That meanie punctured my ear (I wanted to get an earing by the way, but mum said NOO.....), and really hurt me. So now every time I see a Border Collie, I try my best to really bug him. What I mean by "bug" is not attacking. What I do is I either try to break his "concentration" when he is staring intently at his owner (most of them do, which I can never understand why they would want to pay so much attention to their owners), or I try to cut him off while he runs after the thing he was staring at his owner to throw. I just do my very best at being "in his face" and being "a pain in the a$$" all the time if you know what I mean. Of course, if the Border Collie happens to have a short temper (which many of them do, and it's grrreat) and snaps at me, then VOILA, I get my excuse to get my revenge (on my earing-less ear)!!

So usually if we meet a Border Collie, depending on my body language, but most often, mum will distract me and we move on.

Fortunately, Kipp just had the colouring of a Border Collie, but he looked and acted nothing like one. I really liked him and wanted to play with him so bad, BUT....

He told me he was worried about MY #1 - #4....... He said somebody told him to never mess with terriers since they are ruthless creatures. MY #1 & #3 are terriers. Then he said he didn't want to lose his hocks to the Sheltie who is MY # 2. He also said the sheer size and substance of MY # 4 sent shivers down his spine.

So Kipp thought it was a better idea for him to flirt with some other GUY!!

At first, I thought the reason he was staying away from me was really because he was afraid of MY #1 - #4. However, after much observation,

I came to my conclusion.....

I respected Kipp's wishes, and moved on to my next target.

But this guy, look at what his first question to me was!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!

Anyway, we all had a great time playing together, and personally, I think if another Resident Evil movie were to be made, all four of us should be in it!!! I know we are no dobermans....but....

Now if my buddies don't make the cut, I think at least *I* should make it!! Not exactly the way I had imagined my break to stardom, but still, it's better than nothing.

My Favourite Story - The chickenDALE (part 1)

I would like to share with you my favourite bedtime story.

The story goes like this:

Once upon a time, there was a crazyDALE whose name we will not mention.

She used to FLY down these slippery wooden stairs whenever she hears someone at the door.

There were times when she would slip and miss a few steps at a time and hit the wall, then bounce off the wall down few more steps, then bounce off the other wall, and miss a few more steps until she gets to the bottom. If you have played one of those pinball machines, you would know what I'm talking about.

The crazyDALE's caretaker got very worried because the crazyDALE had a bad leg. She worried the crazyDALE might hurt herself. So the caretaker started blocking off the entrance to the stair way once the crazyDALE was upstairs. By doing so, every time the crazyDALE needed to go downstairs, she would be accompanied by her caretaker.

As time went on, the crazyDALE disappeared, and a new hybrid emerged.......

MEET,

The chickenDALE whose name we will again not mention has somehow convinced herself that the only way to get down these stairs is for all 64 lbs of meat to be in the arms of her caretaker. Otherwise, she makes those sounds that chickens make when they're being slaughtered......

Sometimes, the chickenDALE does give it a good try to go down those scaaaaawie stairs....

Unfortunately, her caretaker always ends up having to carry her down.

What's really interesting is that the chickenDALE is only chicken with the stair way that goes from the first floor to the second floor, and she never has problems going "up". She is also completely fine going down the stairs from the first floor to the basement. The surface material is completely the same with the two stairways.

I personally think the chickenDALE has a mental block. Since her caretaker never had to block the stairway down to the basement or carry her down those stairs, the thought of her not being able to do those stairs never came across her mind. Same thing with going "up" the stairs with both stairways. It's only going down from the second floor to the first floor that the chickenDALE has a problem with because that's when the stairway was blocked and she had to be helped down. I guess this is the reason why those hoomans say dogs are very specific animals??

Anyway, this is my favourite story because it makes me feel good. I mean, a SuperDALE like me would never make noises like THAT!! I know that chickeDALE looks like me, and I don't know why the crazy lady was calling her my name, but I can assure you that, it was NOT me you saw in the videos!! BELIEVE ME!

I want my hair BACK!!!!!

This was me 2 days ago,

This is me NOW.................

What's the difference??

The difference is I'M MISSING A LOT OF HAIR, and I want them BACK!!! Ok, it's not that I miss having my fluff so I want my hair back. I actually prefer having shorter hair so that I don't get too hot especially with the heat being on inside most of the time now. The only reason I want my hair back is to make my point heard.

You may remember from my "Fall is here" post, my mum said instead of grooming me every 6-8 weeks like she did during the warmer months, she would only groom me every 10-12 weeks during the colder months (which is now).

But guess what?

My last grooming session was on September 21st, 2006. Today is November 3rd, 2006 (we are posting this a little late). If I did my math correctly, that's 43 days, which means it has only been 6.14 weeks!!!! 6.14 weeks just barely made the cut for the warmer months, nevermind about the colder months..... Maybe my EVIL mum can't even do math?? Oh, did I mention, I HATE to be groomed??

I was very angry at first, but my anger turned into sadness after a little while......... I couldn't believe the mum who raised me lied. I was feeling quite emotional, and had to go wipe my tears off my hairless face...... (nope, I'm not exaggerating one bit!)

Mum gave me some lame excuse of how my birthday is coming up in 3 weeks and that I look the cutest at 3 weeks post butchering...I mean grooming. So she wants my hair to be ready for pictures. yeh... more pictures...... that sounds exciting.... I can hardly wait........

Ok, I see mum has Goldie the AmazingDALE's story up now on the other window because apparently, I'm pouting too much?

THAT WOMAN MAKES ME MAD!!! And what's wrong with my hair growth rate anyway? Why do I become such a hairy woman after only 6.14 weeks of being groomed?

LAST NOTE:

For those of you who haven't signed up for the DWB X-mas card exchange, you better get your smelly butts over there and SIGN UP NOW!!! You don't want to make an already not so happy terrier b*tch more mad!!! Yes I'm pushy, yes I'm demanding, yes I'm Miss Sunshade ;-)

I'm not scary?

I went for my rehab swim again today; unfortunately, it was pouring rain by the time I was finished, so I didn't get to go to the backyard ZOO.............

However, here is a video that was taken on Halloween, the last time I visited the zoo.

Those two big white ducks are super mean and scaaaaaawie. One of them took a big nip at my muscle butt once while I wasn't watching..... How low was he/she to attack from behind!! That nip sent me straight up into the air. After I recovered from the initial shock, I retaliated!! Yes, I'm a BRAVE gurrrrl!!

(mum's note: she did indeed retaliate, but the retaliation happened 10 feet away from the fence. This is why she wouldn't even look at the ducks at the beginning of the video!)

WHY weren't they afraid of me??? I felt like *I* was the one being watched there!!! They only left in the end when their hooman dad came to feed them.

WHY? WHY? WHY?

I bet it was that annoying Mr. Goatee, he must have told them about our little nose to nose incident, so now none of them are afraid of me!!! Just to refresh your memory.........

***SPECIAL NOTE to Sherry (with Aire-girls Lita & Trish):

Dear Sherry,

Thank you so much for leaving me a comment. Sorry I have no way of responding to you privately, so I have my toes crossed that you will see this.

I just want to wish you all the best with your recovery!! I'm hopeful with all the Aire-Zens (vewie powerful stuff) your girls and I are sending you, you will be back home with your girls in no time. Meanwhile, I will continue to do all the Sunshade-y stuff to keep you SMILING!! *wink*

You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Oh, and mum wants me to send her regards.

Sincere love nibbles,
Miss Sunshade

What does "regards" mean anyway? Don't think they ever taught us that in terrier school. Any terrorist know what it means?

There is a word..........

in the hooman world,

that describes a girl like me.......................

Meet
Mackie - MY man # 1:

It was my smile that caught Mackie's attention.

His wiriness, confidence, and
vocality made him MY man # 1!! However, shortly after we declared our love to each other, we ran into a problem involving his other girlfriend, Opy. After a much needed and a rather diplomatic (yes, I held back on my female terrier-ness) discussion with Opy, we decided that it was ok for a ruggedly handsome fellow such as Mackie to have one girlfriend per breed.

I somehow applied the above rule to myself.......................

Meet Max the V - MY man # 2:

It was my
grooming post that caught Maxey's (yes, I can call him that) attention. He wrote me a letter and melted my heart with it. This is my first ever letter from Maxey:

Dear Miss Sunshade,

I am CONVERTED! I am totally mesmerized by your fluffiness (and some of those grooming shots left me panting). I too hate being groomed and frankly am far less cooperative.

But mostly I am in total awe of your commanding protection skills. I never thought I would see some skill in a non-sheltie, let alone a female. I'm yours!

M-the-V

ps. thank you so much for visiting me. I am charmed at meeting you!

His bravery impressed me, his special neck-breaking skill ROCKED MY WORLD! And he, became MY man # 2.

Unfortunately, I later found out once again, I shared yet another one of MY men with another woman. Her name is
Floss, and she just happened to be another attractive Australian babe like Opy..........

And then there was the Handsome Devil......

Meet Bogart - MY man # 3:

It was this picture that had me convinced that Bogie is worthy of being MY man # 3. We obviously share similar interests, and prefer similar looks:

I have been fantasizing about this Handsome Devil ever since he was just a wee baby.... Ok, I know that sounds weird, but I have been reading Bogie's blog ever since
last Howl-o-ween when he looked like this: (if it wasn't for Bogie, I would probably never have my own blog...)

I watched him grow into the big ruggedly handsome fella that he is now, and I just couldn't seem to get him out of my mind. So I started dropping hints, but was honestly a little worried due to our huge age difference. I am 6 years of his senior, and I didn't know if a young, handsome studly Airedale would like an old spayed, alpha Aire-girl........

Fortunately, with this picture,

my doubts were cleared, and my question was answered!!

Bogie's exact words:

"If you ever want to try out that wedding dress for real - I'M YOUR MAN."

He became MY man # 3!!! I'm glad to say that so far, I have not had to share him with anybody.....hehe!

Lastly, there is the Studly Dudley:

This was my first letter from Dudley the Boo-dog:

Hi Miss Sunshade.. i'm so excited to finally be able to leave you a comment! i'm jealous of all the adventures your mum takes you on.. though i have to admit, shh, i'm a little lazy myself to go on them anyway. the couch is my destination of choice.. you might have real bunnies at the pet store (and georgie!) but i've got a few dust bunnies that can keep me company =)

Your pictures are the best, sunshade.. and really, you're so pretty.. and photogenic.. gosh, i swear i'm usually more SMOOTH than this since I'm european after all. Well, English - still very dashing!!i just want you to know that I would sniff butts with you anyday *blush*

So charming..........

Anyway, even tho Dudley and I are still trying to figure out exactly what our relationship is, I am leaning towards making him MY man # 4. I just can't get enough of
his snoring and twitching, too SEXY!! Did I mention, Dudley and I live in the same city??

SOOO, the word that describes a girl like me in the hooman world is ------

POPULAR
!!!

If you are thinking about the other word, well that doesn't apply to us dawgs!!!

****Mum's note:
OMG!! What has my dogter done now?? I let her have unsupervised blogging time and now she's got herself 4 more boyfriends? (on top of the 3 she's already got in real life...) I would like to give my sincere apologies to all the above gentlemen if my dogter has somehow broken your hearts. Sunshade has always been a very flirty girl in real life with handsome males, especially un-neutered ones. It is a good thing that she is spayed because the way she acts around un-neutered males can get quite embarrassing at times. I don't know what I have done wrong as a parent to raise such a flirtatious girl.

I guess you can never give an Airedale too much freedom, or things like this happens..... aiiiiiii.....

PLEASE ignore the above statement!!! I disagree on many counts including the part about the way I act around un-neutered males being embarrassing. You know how them hoomans get......... way too serious!

LOVE ME
and DON'T HATE ME!

Love nibbles,
Miss Sunshade
