Talk to the nose!

While I was doing my usual rounds in the kitchen today, mum came and interrupted me. She made me go in the yard.......

(mum: Sunshade used to love her yard, to do squirrel/crow/mailman patrol or dig huge holes. Nowadays, Cushings has her thinking she's starving that she hangs around the kitchen a lot and doesn't want to leave the house because there might be food!!! So it sometimes takes a lot of coaxing to get her out for a walk. She used to love her walkies... :( )

Mum asked me if I wanted to go for a walk. I considered,

Then I told her to talk to the nose. If the nose says yes (meaning I smell something yummy), then I'd go!

Ok SuperNOSE says dehydrated liver and chicken jerky - so YES!!

We got to the park and I made sure mum remembered to bring the yummies with us,

WAIIIIIIIIT UPPPPPPP.......!!!!

Now where is MY sanity bag??? (mum: sanity bag = treat bag)

I told mum to please not run away with my sanity bag again,

I made sure she heard me!!!

I told mum that if she ran away again with my sanity bag, there will be CONSEQUENCES!!!

Yes, her favourite Vancouver 2010 glovie will be STOLEN!!!

Then I saw a handsome far away, so I decided to go see him,

I liked him a lot in the beginning,

But then he decided to go say HI to mum by jumping up on her!

So I went over and told him NOBUDDY SAYS HI TO MY MUM EXCEPT ME, NEVERMIND JUMPING UP ON HER OKAAAAAAAAAAY???

I gave him the evil eye,

And he backed away for a bit while his Russian owner was yelling "ATTENTION! ATTENTION!!"

Attention what? I hate to break this to him, but this is not the red army.

(mum: Sunshade doesn't like dogs trying to get attention from me period and would usually growl her way in between to separate a dog and me. She however cannot stand dogs jumping up on me, and will sometimes jump up and pull the dog down... LOL. I was trying avoid the situation by walking away from the dog when all of a sudden I heard his owner yelling "attention attention". At first I thought that was his word to get his dog's attention. However, after he explained to me in his heavy Russian accent, I realized the "attention attention" was meant for me to give his dog ATTENTION.. lol!)

The handsome couldn't get his eyes off the MUSCLE BUTT of course,

After he left, mum threw a rockie for me,

I scooted it around with my SuperNOSE,

See my rockie???

Wanna come get it??

I took a break with my rockie,

Mum said we should continue walking,

I said talk to the SuperNOSE,

Alright, chicken jerky.......

HEEEEEEERE I COME!!!!

Then we saw a lady running across the icy field, waving at us. I had no idea who she was, neither did mum. But she was a nice lady, and apparently, she wanted us to wait so she could take a picture of the bootiful ME! I posed for her (the chicken jerky) bootifully. She kept telling mum how bootiful I was and how great of a dog I was (funny how the entire world knows how good I am!). Then she asked mum how old I was and mum said my 11th birfday is tomorrow (25th).

The nice lady then said "WOW! She looks very healthy and 11 is good for an Airedale isn't it??"

Then mum got teary and the poor lady thought she said something wrong, so she apologized and said "oh I'm sorry, is she not an Airedale??"

Then mum told her about something I don't understand. I think it starts with a "C", and the poor lady got MORE teary than mum!!!

And I was like HE-LLOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

CHICKEN JERKY PLEASE!!!!!!!

(mum: before I left for my trip, I ran into a woman with a 7 year old Airedale. She really liked Sunshade (thought Jaffa was very "active" LOL). She asked me how old Sunshade was, and when I told her Sunshade's age, she said - 11 is a good age, my last Airedale died when she was 11.

I remember standing there thinking, NO, 11 is not a good age. Maggie is 12.5, Tika, an Airedale that I groom is 12, so NO, 11 is not a "good age". Even 12,13,14,15 aren't "good ages" for me, forever is more like a good age.)

& I agree with your mum, forever is the best age.

To Sunshade's Mom: please stay positive, and know that we are all praying for Sunshade to beat that evil C. We all know how great a Mom you are, so we're sure Sunshade is in the best hands :)

Miss Sunshade! I love the winter because you wear your stunning pink outfit. You look beautiful.

I think Attention Attention is kind of funny. Poor guy was afraid of your fierceness. Hey, I am too. I wouldn't cross you, no way.

Hi Sunshade's mum: Forever is the right age and time. I think that my dad got four of us because he figured that after my two uncles left, that he'd get a whole bunch of us so that one or all of us would be able to stay with him and mom forever. As far as Sunshade's concerned, it's not time yet. There's still too much left to do, places to go, treats to eat, handsomes to meet, and then there's the agility thing.

PS Could you please tell your mom if she can share how she makes your chicken jerky?
We can't find it here so my mom makes it for me but... I guess she does not know the technique because it never looks good! Thanks a lot!

Im sorry I haven't been able to comment on your previous posts as I've been out of town. I want to give your mum a HUGE hug as I feel so bad at the news. Your mum is great and proactive and I'm sure her and your Aunt Janice will figure out the best way to kick the C-words booty out of you!
You're in our thoughts and we're sending all our positive vibes your way! Stay strong!
